Langford Elementary Music
Elementary music classes meet two times per week in Langford. These may be scheduled separately or with another grade level. In December, they are included in the K-12 Winter Concert. Classes have a great time singing, dressing in costumes, learning choreography and presenting their final product for the audience.
In class, students learn the basics of music theory, history and singing techniques . Currently, the Silver Burdett series is used in each class.
Each year, students in grades K-6 have an opportunity to perform in one musical. This usually is done in March or April. Each individual has a spoken part (whether it is written in the actual musical or made up by the director). Each class is also responsible for vocally performing musical selections.
Previously used musicals include:
Who Pushed Humpty The Princess and the Frog
Celebrate the Season The Littlest Christmas Tree
I am a Small Part of the World Bugz
E-I-E-I-Oops Salute to Musicals
It'sSaturday Sing a Song of Nonsense-A Tribute to Nonsense/Novelty Songs
