Autobiography of Kelly Wieser

My name is Kelly Wieser.  I have been the K-12 Band and Vocal Director at Langford Public School since 1996.  My job consists of teaching Elementary Music, Junior and Senior High Chorus, Private lessons and 7-12 Band--and Sociology!

In my time at Langford, I have had many rewarding experiences.  Each fall, the LHS Marching Lions compete in parades throughout the state, including NSU’s Gypsy Day parade.  We have been successful in both of these competition.  Other parts of my job description also include preparing students for concerts, contests and Elementary musicals.  My favorite part of this job is the final concert of the year.  This typically has a theme and is performed by all of the music groups on the Junior and Senior High levels.  Many hours of preparation go into not only the music selection, and rehearsal, but decorating and making every detail count.  We are notorious for having a “big surprise” of some sort at the end of every Spring Concert.  Whether it be a 40-foot American flag being raised as “Stars and Stripes Forever” is played or characters from “The Wizard of Oz” strolling through the audience during selections from the musical, all students, staff and concert-goers look forward to this grand finale!  What better way to end the year!

I am married to the love of my life, Don and have two great kids, Mitchell and Austen, who keep my on my toes when I am not busy at school.  The community of Langford is such a wonderful place to live!  I am surrounded by the supportive communities who make up our school district and have the privilege to work with a friendly and helpful staff and administration.

When I am not creating the next musical moment, I love to try new recipes and watch baseball--GO TWINS!
